About The Cozy Pirate

The Cozy Pirate is half art studio, half thrift shop. It is a dream of sustainable art and fashion. The hope is that you will leave with a one-of-a-kind piece you never even dreamed you’d walk out with before coming in. One that will make you smile every time you see or wear it.

About the Name

Below The Cozy Pirate is Easton 1602, the pub owned by Pauline’s parents, and inspiration for the shop’s name. Keeping in theme with Eastons, and the family love for Harbour Grace’s massive Pirate history, The Cozy Pirate brings forth thoughts and imagery of the search for adventure, treasure, fun, and curiosity – but maybe in a cute sweater with some fairy lights and a hot chocolate, please!

About the Artist

House Artist, Pauline French, moved back to Newfoundland in 2025 for a fresh start. With no money and a small home that had zero space for her art supplies, her parents offered her space above their pirate-themed pub to use as a studio. From there, the idea grew.

Pauline is a multi-media artist who just loves trying everything. From your standard pencil drawings, to fashion, and toy customization – she has tried it all, and if she hasn’t, she will. Each new skill she gains is a weapon in her pencil case, and she WILL find a way to combine it with everything else she knows.

With her love for thrifting, pop culture, and fashion, TCP seemed like the perfect next step.
